The Virtual Patriots Jet Demonstration Team was started in the fall of 2008. In 2009 the team has grown to a full diamond and 2 other support members. The mission of the Virtual Patriots is to faithfully and accurately replicate the demonstration flown by the Fry's Electronics Patriots Jet Team based in Byron, California. Their 4-ship L-39 demo is fast paced with constant action from beginning to end, and we aim to make it even more exciting. We provide the real team with ideas for new maneuvers and are working on new show music for their routine and possibly a new routine itself for the 2010 show season! Taking us under their wing, the Patriots Jet Team have integrated us as an official part of their team and we continue to work together to better the real and virtual flying experience.

More opportunities to work with the real team will be revealed as time goes on, but back to the virtual aspect of our team. The pilots for this year's demo team are as follows:

  • #1 Boss - Anthony 'Blaze' Echavarria
  • #2 Right Wing - Cory 'SilentEagle' Parks
  • #3 Left Wing - Ian 'Burner' Roberts
  • #4 Slot - Travis 'Bow' Munoz
  • #5 Lead Solo/Narrator - Chris 'STRIKER' Curtis
  • #6 Public Affairs - Sien 'Sinister' Pileggi

Our website is not currently finished yet and will be released along with the real teams new site, but our forums are up and running, http://www.virtualpatriots.com/forum. We encourage you all to come over and join us, and if you have any questions or comments for the virtual or the real Patriots, or wish to inquire about trying out for the team, we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

With that said, I present the 2009 Virtual Patriots Jet Demonstration Team!

Ever since Striker showed me the website, I've been anticipating what was going on behind the curtain. I would have to say I'm impressed. Good job and good luck y'all!

Second that! As I already mentioned at our forums, I'm excited to see and hear more about everything from both the PJT and the VPJT in the upcoming months, and I'm pleased to see that half of the Virtual Patriots team (Burner, Striker and Cinch) are ex-Virtual Thunderbirds who got their "schooling" in the virtual Red, White and Blue jets. (Also, like Blaze pointed out, kinda spooky how that resembles the real team as well). Best of luck to everyone! 8-)

I will second LD's comments as well. Way to go guys. I remember talking to Wilber almost two years ago and mentioned this idea to him. He thought it was great. I am glad that you were able to make it a reality. Best of luck to you all. Can't wait to see a live demo.

Thanks Convertible.
Yes, it was a great idea back then, and its an awesome reality now. Its always alot of fun talking with Wilbur and having him drop ideas on us and really having an active part in the growth and development of the VPJT.

You wouldnt believe the personality of some of these guys.. true funny and amazing. Even a funnier then funny free spirited Full Bird Colonel lol. Its great.

We hope that this sort of relationship sets the bar for all virtual teams and that they will be able to have a close relationship with their Real World CounterParts.
